Asset Categories
Every asset in M7 must be assigned a category at the time of creation. Categories are used for filtering, reporting, and dashboard charts.
Available Categories

Selecting a Category
Section titled “Selecting a Category”When adding a new asset, the Category field is required (marked with *). The default value is Other — always change this to the correct type.
Filtering by Category
Section titled “Filtering by Category”On the Assets page, use the All Categories dropdown to filter the table to a single category. On the Asset Pool page, category filter tabs appear at the top of the page for quick access.
Dashboard Charts
Section titled “Dashboard Charts”The Assets by Category donut chart on the Dashboard updates in real time as assets are added or changed.
