Managing Alerts

The alert system notifies you of inventory conditions that need attention, such as low stock, condition issues, or expiring items.

Triggered when:

  • Quantity falls below minimum
  • Approaching minimum level

Information shown:

  • Current quantity
  • Minimum threshold
  • Suggested reorder amount
  • Last purchase date

Triggered when:

  • Item marked as needing repair
  • Item marked for replacement
  • Condition deteriorates

Information shown:

  • Current condition
  • Issue description
  • Recommended action
  • Associated work order (if any)

Triggered when:

  • Item approaching expiry
  • Item expired
  • Warranty ending

Information shown:

  • Expiry date
  • Days until/since expiry
  • Quantity affected
  • Disposal instructions

  1. Go to Alerts in sidebar
  2. View all active alerts
  3. Filter by type or property
  4. Sort by priority or date

Dashboard shows:

  • Total active alerts
  • By category
  • By priority
  • Quick links

Receive alerts via:

  • In-app notification
  • Email digest
  • Push notification (mobile)

  1. Click on low stock alert
  2. Review item details
  3. Options:
    • Create PO - Order more
    • Transfer - Get from elsewhere
    • Adjust Minimum - Change threshold
    • Acknowledge - Mark as noted
    • Resolve - Mark as handled
  1. Click on condition alert
  2. Review item status
  3. Options:
    • Create Work Order - Request repair
    • Mark for Replacement - Flag item
    • Update Condition - Change status
    • Archive Item - Remove from active
  1. Click on expiry alert
  2. Review expiry details
  3. Options:
    • Use/Dispose - Remove stock
    • Reorder - Get fresh stock
    • Extend - If possible
    • Acknowledge - Mark as noted
